He also made a motion to approve all service reports at once at the end of the meeting. This motion was unanimously accepted.

Secretary’s Report: Dan A. reported that the minutes for the 6/7/2024 Business Meeting had been posted on the group’s Website and asked for any comments. None were made.

Service Chair Report: John D. that all is still running smoothly. He noted that he is still looking for backup hosts to act as substitutes when needed-as recent backups have not worked out. He is looking for those with computer skills and time to contribute.

Coins and Books Report: Ann Z. shared Pam D.’s report that 8 coins with cards had been sent out. No books were requested in June.

Treasurer’s Report: Jo reported that the current balance for the Happy Hour Meeting is $321.27 (not counting the reserve of $400). $721.27 was deposited into the GSB account. Income was reported for 7th tradition contributions ($155). Expenses reported were for Zoom ($34.01), and donations for District 20 ($100.14), Area 11 ($200.18) and G.S.O ($200.28) – totaling $534.71.  Jo noted that the check for Area 11 has not yet cleared. The group had no questions or concerns.

Herb inquired about further distributions of money above the current prudent reserve, i.e., the Jacob’s Beach picnic in August, noting that JOL contributed $100 last year. Herb noted that the Early Risers group in Branford donated $300 to the Jacobs Beach event last year. It was also noted that private donations were made to the event in the past. Jo suggested that, pending any outstanding expenses to be reported by Pam D. regarding coins, cards and Big Books, that any further distributions be considered at the August Business Meeting.

GSR Report: Herb reported once again that all GSR minutes are posted on the district web site:

https://d20a11.org/june-20-2024-business-meeting/

Herb reported that there was a discussion/review on what and how this district is carrying the message to the next sick and suffering alcoholic and sited target areas: treatment centers, libraries and social workers. Herb received remarks on the D20 Website from the Area 11 General Services Committee Chair and passed them on in the following Web Chair report.

Web Chair Report: Herb reported that he had received a letter about the District 20 Web page, which the Chairman noted he had discussed with Area Officers. The letter praised the effort of District 20 leaders for helping to create to create a digital footprint as a service tool.

Herb reported that the letter also raised several concerns, including the use of stock pictures on the home page, the mention of speaker names on speaker tapes, linking to non-AA approved songs, meditations and literature, use of the treasurer’s full name in the Venmo account and several other points. Herb reported that the letter and his response are included on the Area 11 website: https://www.aahappyhour.com/area-11-comments-on-district-20-website/

Herb also highlighted that our District 20 is autonomous. Dan A supported Herb’s written remarks. Herb concluded be saying he is always open to suggestions and does what the groups conscience asks. He also asked the group to change the name of his “title” to Web Server vs. Web Master.

Adjournment: Dan A. asked if there was any other business to bring up. None was mentioned. Jo made a motion that all reports be accepted. This was seconded andall reports were accepted unanimously.  The meeting was unanimously called to adjournment.
